Great news, everyone! According to Bless Source, Bless: Embers in the Storm, more commonly known as Bless Online is coming to North America and Europe. The news was confirmed by the Neowiz Games Business Manager, saying that the publishing contracts are in the final stage. While this is great to hear after a few years of silence, there’s not much extra info and not even a sight of a release window, but we’re hoping that in a couple of months we’ll know a lot more.
The same portal also mentions a rumor that Black Desert Online publisher Daum Games could turn out to be Bless’ publisher in western territories, but it’s just speculation at the moment.
Bless Online recently entered open beta in Korea and while this is a stunning game, the overall impressions is that combat still needs a lot of work.

According to Chinese website 17173, Lost Ark could be entering Korean closed beta in April 2016. This highly anticipated Diablo-like action MMORPG is developed by Smilegate, makers of the highly popular and profitable free-to-play shooter CrossFire.
This is just a rumor, and while we wait for some kind of official confirmation, we know that Lost Ark was in a small focus group test in August 2015 and that the first closed beta was planned for the first half of 2016, so there could be some truth to this rumor.
Video från 2014 - (Gameplay från 2016 längre ner)
Lost Ark is a stunning action MMORPG from Smilegate, makers of the free-to-play shooter CrossFire, and Tripod Studios. This game caused quite a stir when it was revealed during G-Star 2014, being hailed as the game that is the Diablo MMORPG players have been waiting for. With nearly 20 classes announced, a tripod system that allows for complex and varied combos specific for each character, action combat that is by far some of the most exciting you’ll ever see in an MMO, and open world events, this is a game that is as beautiful as vast.
Lost Ark is much more than a simple multiplayer hack and slash game; this is a full-fledged MMORPG with a large world map to explore and plenty to do besides following the main story, which says that the game world is being invaded by demons, with random chaos gates that are used to cross and also work as open world events called World Class Crisis, where players have to fight together to defeat the invaders.
Some of the classes include the Battle Master, Devil Hunter, Arcana or the Berserker, each one offering a very distinct kind of gameplay. Some are best at melee combat, others prefer to use magic, while a few go for long range tactics. The tripod system plays a big role in the way that your character faces the battles, allowing for several combos and customization that bring an extra replay value to the game. For example, the Battle Master is able to choose an element (earth, fire, water or air), use it a few times and even increase the area of effect.
Besides questing, there are many activities such as fishing, crafting, mining, drinking and card games, moral decisions to take (save a man or let him die), hidden quests, like the one that you can find by eavesdropping, among many other things. The Guardian Raids are regularly impressive and require some kind of teamwork to bring the creature down, as well as awareness to your surroundings and the items that can be used. Finally, the cinematic dungeon experience makes the action a lot more exciting, with all the inventive camera angles and sense of urgency. There’s also a colosseum for PvP fighting.
Lost Ark is one of the most interesting games we’ve ever seen and is recommended not only to every Diablo fan, but to every single MMORPG fan. Between Lost Ark and Lineage Eternal: Twilight Resistance, it’s nigh-on impossible to choose a single game.

Dragon Nest MMO loses two years of player data
Massively-multiplayer online games are one of the most difficult games to get right and keep running. Each game needs enough players to cover the costs of renting the servers required to run it, while at the same time there’s a constant demand for new content while keeping the whole system safe and secure. However, South Korean developer Eyedentity Games has really screwed up on its free-to-play fantasy MMO Dragon Nest, managing to lose two years worth of player data.
The data loss relates to the European servers for Dragon Nest. On January 31st they went offline with a technical error. They didn’t come back online until February 5th, but when they did, players were informed there had been some serious data loss. It was the publisher, Shanda Games, who did the explaining:
“All titles, missions, quests, achievements, NPC points, guild points, cooking details, fishing details, trading house items, as well as inventory and storage items are gone for now. Cash Items have also been wiped.”
All players have left is their characters, gold, Dragon Nest Points (DNP), and Althea Crowns (AC). So basically, all progress through the game, even for long term players, has been wiped and no record remains.
As it’s a free-to-play game, it’s easy to walk away from and many players probably will following this news. However, Eyedentity and Shanda are understandably very keen to say sorry and compensate all players that have seen their game data destroyed, so they are putting together a reimbursement and compensation package.
All characters currently active in the game will be automatically bumped up to Level 80 with all mandatory and relevant quests/missions marked as completed. 100 gold will also be given out to each character allowing for quick skills setup, and Level 70 (legendary) materials and Level 80 (epic) equipment will be given to all. A full list of the compensation package can be found on theDragon Nest Europe website.
What’s striking about this data loss is the obvious complete lack of backups, or at the very least backups kept on a different server and/or location. You can’t lose years of data if you are taking regular backups and storing them sensibly, so there is something fundamentally wrong with how the game is being managed by either Shanda’s or Eyedentity’s team.
It’s been pointed out in the comments at Siliconera that the data loss is actually “a win for 95% of the playerbase.” That’s due to the compensation being so good coupled with important items apparently being restored if you file a support ticket. However, new players won’t have a great time because the market is suffering massive inflation right now.

Titanfall 2 due this year, according to McFarlane Toys
Figurine manufacturer McFarlane Toys announced a series of Titanfall action figures due this winter that "will be released in conjunction with the highly anticipated launch of Titanfall 2.
This is the first time the title "Titanfall 2" has been mentioned in any official capacity. There have been whispers surrounding a new Titanfall since the launch of the first game, though we only recently found out it would launch before 31st March 2017 and contain a story campaign "where science meets magic". Yet in spite of all these reports, the actual title - banal as it may be - was always kept in the shadows, only referred to with such cryptic phrases as "a new Titanfall experience."
This led more skeptical readers to assume that publisher EA would simply pump out anothermobile Titanfall title, but it appears that isn't the case. We've also known for a while that the next major Titanfall game would be multiplatform, even if no platforms have been officially announced.
According to McFarlane's announcement, the Titanfall figures will be a part of 2016 Collector Box Program. Each figure will be seven inches tall with an average of 15 points of articulation.
"This is a perfect fit. McFarlane [Toys] was created so I could make cool stuff just like this," said owner and CEO Todd McFarlane, best known as the creator of Spawn. "Without saying too much about the new game... You're not going to believe where we can take this."
When pressed for comment, an EA representative told Eurogamer, "MacFarlane Toys will be releasing toys inspired by Titanfall in Winter of 2016. We have yet to provide a release date for the next Titanfall experience from Respawn."
RuneScape publisher Jagex has announced a new spin-off game called RuneScape:
Developed by Hyper Hippo, the team behind Adventure Capitalists, the free-to-play title will release on Android, iOS and PC in northern spring – with full cross-save support.
“It’s an addictive, quick-to-play RPG boiled down to the basics of levelling and looting,” Jagex said.
“In a typical session, you’ll spend a few minutes making choices for your customisable hero, then leave him or her to train, fight and quest in real time. Chilled-out, low-intensity gameplay sits alongside deep character progression and a light-hearted, comedic story, with nuggets of RuneScape lore unveiled as you progress.”
The player is cast as the wielder of an Elder Artefact known as the Needle, and must nurture and protect Gielinor, “doing whatever it takes – from fishing trout to grappling with the gods – to help those who call it home”.
Since the project is being developed externally Jagex said players need expect no impact on the venerable MMORPG. It suggested fans might like to use Idel Adventures as a second screen distraction while playing RuneScape prime. More details will be revealed in a Twitch stream this week.
In other RuneScape spin-off news, card game Chronicle: RuneScape Legends goes into open beta on March 23. Here’s a new trailer:
